Alumni answer questions about life after Charter:

Q: How did the Charter School prepare you for the future?

Long-term projects! Always gotta get started early.

-Keith Chatinover, local elected official

The Charter School has retroactively become the place where I learned to be uncompromising about myself. The experience was an unexpected solid groundwork of who I became.

The individualized learning that’s offered here really helped me grow into myself at my own pace.

-Trey Araujo, operations manager

I was able to become an independent learner and see what I wanted to do, or not do

-Bella Morais, Gallery Coordinator

I learned not to sweat the small stuff & just be myself

-Sam Devanski

Q: Based on your own experience, what advice would you give to students in high school?

Cherish the family and friends that you make here.

-Sam Devanski

It’s OK to not know everything!

-Bella Morais, Gallery coordinator

Take full advantage of mentorships, independent study, portfolio, etc–any self-directed learning. Two completed feature scripts by 12th grade was critical come college-level screenwriting courses.

-Ian Chickering, photographer, writer, filmmaker, creative … all-around artist

Being respectful and being confidently yourself will be all you need out in the world.
